According to Sami Sivrikaya, the situation in Kahramanmaras is appalling.
“Not a single building remained in the city. According to rumors, over 3 thousand buildings collapsed. Residents are in a panic, they cannot get their relatives and friends out of the rubble. Rescuers work in the city, but the scale of destruction is such that it is impossible to dismantle all the rubble even with the help of residents. Hospitals are overflowing with the wounded, there are not enough places for all the victims. Left homeless, people suffer from cold, lack of food and water.
Not only buildings, but also roads were damaged by the earthquake. Therefore, communication with the province is difficult. The military pitched tents, but they are not enough. Therefore, for many, their cars have become a haven,” he said.
