Who is behind the murder of MP Fazil Mustafa?
Arastun Orujlu, an expert on security issues, shares his assumptions about this in the "Difficult Question" program.
According to him, this is perhaps the most difficult question. "It is difficult for me to answer this question in monosyllables. We have to be extremely careful here, because in this case the talk is about political terror, since an attempt was made on a representative of one of the branches of government," Orujlu said.
According to the expert, first of all it is necessary to look for the cause of what happened, secondly, to find out the motive and finally. thirdly, to understand why it was Fazil Mustafa who was attacked by a terrorist?
"Only then can we get closer to the answer to the question – "Who is behind the terrorist attack? As they say, "see to the root." We must first find an answer to the question - why there was a terrorist attack in Azerbaijan and its target was not someone, but a member of Parliament, the head of a political party. It must be admitted that among the members of parliament, Fazil Mustafa was one of the most active among 10-15 deputies. By the way, in connection with the "Terter case", he made harsh accusations against the Military Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Defense. In this case, why should not we think that the terrorist attack was committed by them? Why not?", Orujlu said, adding that all versions without exception should be checked.
Orujlu also noted that it would be erroneous to claim that Fazil Mustafa criticized only pro-Iranian Shiites and Iranophiles, to look for the perpetrators of the crime only in Iran. "There must be evidence. But we can assume who could be interested in this crime," Orujlu stressed.
According to the expert, the reasons for the attempt are obvious.
"The geopolitical struggle," he is convinced.
