Average daily export of gas via south Caucasian pipeline increased by 20.7% in 2013
During 2013 average daily gas deliveries via the South Caucasian Pipeline (SCP, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum gas pipeline) totaled 13.4 million cub.m., up 20.7% against 2012 (11.1 million cub.m.), reported press office of BP-Azerbaijan company.
According to the company, last year 4,891,000,000 cub.m. of gas was pumped via the SCP.
Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee reported that last year 4.6 billion cub.m. of gas was exported via SCP.
SCP was put into operation at the end of 2006, export of gas from the gas condensate field Shah-Deniz in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea to Georgia via the pipeline started in March 2007 and to Turkey in July 2007.
The statement also reads that last year the costs related to the SCP operations totaled $250 million (growth by 22.7 times against 2012). The costs for expanding the SCP in 2014 are planned to reach $1.25 billion.
* The SCP shareholders are BP (technical operator) – 28.8%, SOCAR (commercial operator) - 16.7%, Statoil – 15.5%, NICO, LUKoil and Total - 10% each and ТРАО - 9%.—0--
