Cybernetics Will Be Accurate in Predicting Earthquakes
In the near future, local earthquake sources will be predicted with maximum accuracy.
Since 2010, five seismic telemetry stations for forecasting earthquakes have been created, said at the International Conference "Problems of Cybernetics and Informatics" - 2012 the Director of the Institute of Cybernetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, academician Telman Aliyev.
According to him, these stations operate near Baku on Gum Adasi (Sandy Island), in Shirvan and Naphthalan, and in the Siyazan and Neftchala regions, which allows to predict earthquakes for 15-20 hours prior to their activity.
At these stations, not only local seismologists, but also 17 scientists from Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Greece, Italy, Turkey and other countries work. They are developing a new system for forecasting earthquakes. The next stage of development will create a system to predict not only the fact of the earthquake, but the coordinates of the hearth. Model of the system is created, is to implement it - said the academician.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology that provided telecommunications facilities for the transmission of signals from different stations in a single data center, which will coordinate predicted underground elements.
According to the scientist, it is planned to install a new telemetry seismic station in Nakhchivan, on the border with Iran and Turkey.
The innovation has been recognized by the international community. The results were published as a separate publication in reputable scientific journal Lambert (Germany). If the Azerbaijan "testing ground" justifies itself completely, a network of satellite forecast management will be established with the above-mentioned countries. - 17D-
