Illegal labor in stone quarries

In a raid conducted by the State Labour Inspection Service of Azerbaijan on July 4 at two quarries in Garadagh district of Baku, revealed serious violations of labor laws. The raid involved officials of the Ministries of Interior and Economic Development.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, the quarries owned small business Konul 10 and LLC Sebuhi Assosiasiyasi employed about 30 people, which were not issued an employment relationship. In addition, it was found that plants used for equipment and facilities pose a risk to the health and lives of employees, who are also not provided with the means of personal safety and special clothing. In compliance with Art. 229 of the Labor Code, the work of stone crushing machines paused to address the shortcomings.

In addition, two companies will be subject to administrative penalties under Art. 53.1 TC for bringing individuals to work without a labor code. According to the article, officials fined in the amount of 3,000 to 5,000 manats, legal entities - from 20 000 to 25 000 manats. - 08D-
