Natig Aliyev Not Informed about World Development of Alternative Energy

The Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev received Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Magzum Mirzagaliev. They discussed the development of alternative energy.

According to the official message of the Ministry, at the meeting it was pointed out that the use of alternative and renewable energy is a priority in Azerbaijan. At the same time, the Minister said that alternative energy will not be able to completely replace traditional energy.

From the statement by the Minister it can be seen that he is not informed about the ongoing processes in the world related to the development of alternative energy, and the uncertainty of his position in this matter. So in March 2016 during a panel presentation on the topic: "What are the future prospects of energy and global governance" in the framework of the IV Global Forum in Baku Aliyev said that Azerbaijan is implementing development of alternative and renewable energy projects, and in the near future decade the era of this kind of energy will start in Azerbaijan.

At the same time, the Minister does not know that the world is moving by leaps and bounds towards the widespread use of alternative energy.

Thus, the parliament of one of the leading countries in the automotive industry, Germany, has already passed a resolution to ban the production of cars with internal combustion engines from 2030.

The engines ban is discussed in Norway and the Netherlands.

The government subsidizes the purchase of electric vehicles. So, in the spring of 2016 in Germany, the government has adopted a program, according to which every customer of an electric car receives a discount of 4,000 euros paid to their showroom from the budget. Of the 45 million cars registered in Germany hybrids and electric vehicles are less than half a percent.

In addition, the Germans, whose share of renewable energy accounted for 25% of total energy consumption, appealed to the EU with a proposal to introduce similar rules throughout the EU. If it is accepted, the car companies all over the world will receive a new impetus to invest in the production of electric vehicles and gas stations in Europe - to reorient the alternative business model.

At the same time the leading countries do not wish to be limited to electric vehicles. So, NASA is planning in the next decade to transfer part of the aircraft to electricity. To this end, NASA launches the new NEAT lab at the Research Center named after John Glenn. Tests of the first electrical system have already begun.

NEAT engineers will be engaged in design, development and testing of electric aircraft and accessories.

In September, NEAT conducted the first test run of the electrical system, which can provide energy for small aircraft, designed for one or two people. The leading technical expert to develop electric and gasoline hybrid engines Roger Dyson stressed that airlines seek to reduce fuel costs, emissions, noise and operating costs.

"A good example for them is electric vehicles that less pollute the atmosphere, make less noise and are more efficient," he said.

Many companies develop prototypes of electric planes and propulsion systems for them. Among them are big players like Siemens, as well as start-ups, for example, Sunflyer. Statistical research by Nicholas Air revealed that many private jets can now fly with electricity 8,046 km with a stable speed of 804 km / h.

In general, the leading countries invest large investments in the development of alternative energy. Thus, in December 2015, the last 80-megawatt part of the solar power plant in California Topaz was commissioned. So the plant became the manufacturer of 500 megawatts of power. Located on 15 sq. km, the solar batteries of the plant provide electricity to 160 thousand town houses with a population of 276,000.

And in Azerbaijan, not only the statement of the minister, but the statistics show how far we are from the leading ideas in the world.

Thus, according to the State Statistics Committee, from January to September 2016 the solar electricity production amounted to 50.1 million kilowatt / hour (an increase of 15.7 times) and wind power - 11.8 million kilowatt / hour (an increase of 2.5 times). The share of electricity from alternative sources, including from the mini-hydropower plants (six on Azerenergy’s balance, which generated about 20 million KW / h), in the total development of the country's electricity in January-September 2016, according to Turan, amounted to 0.49%.   -71B-
