National "Industrial Safety Summit" is being held in Baku
The first National Industrial Safety Summit, held as part of the celebration of the centenary of Azerbaijan of President Heydar Aliyev, has begun in Baku. Organized by the Azerbaijan Industrial Safety Association and the Azerbaijan State Research Institute of Occupational Health and Safety, with BP as the primary sponsor, the summit has convened over 450 leaders and decision-makers in the industrial sector under the theme "Challenges of Tomorrow." The event spans three panels with 15 speakers and moderators.
The first panel, "On the Way to Zero," delves into discussions about the measures undertaken to achieve zero carbon dioxide emissions within the realm of industrial safety in Azerbaijan. Attended by representatives from private and state enterprises, industry leaders, executive directors, company representatives, government officials, businessmen, and entrepreneurs, the summit explores global innovations in industrial safety practices.
Among the participating entities are BP, Azergold, SOCAR Downstream, AREA, Kaspar, and various other companies actively engaged in discussions that encompass emission reduction in transportation and the exploration of cutting-edge technological solutions by both local and international specialists.

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
