"Open Season" on Labor of Illegal Immigrants Continues
The Tax Ministry announced on identified 695 facts of attraction to work without signing an employment contract in August. Since the beginning of the year as a result of operational control measures revealed 6249 employment of illegal immigrants.
Data analysis of the Taxes shows that in cases of violation of labor laws by hiring individuals we are talking about small businesses. Thus, only in August, these facts have been discovered in 437, and since the beginning of the year - in 3,722 taxpayers.
In July of this year Turan unveiled the fact of attraction to work in the company of Gilan Tekstil Parki of about 1,000 workers. The company itself acknowledged that it is located in Sumgait with 600 people. Employment relationship with the majority of them is not recorded. However, the Tax Ministry has not responded to this publication, as the company is owned by one of the most influential clans in Azerbaijan - the family of th Emergencies Minister Kemaleddin Heydarov. - 08B-

In late February, the governments of Pakistan and Azerbaijan are expected to sign an investment agreement worth $2 billion, which will include several projects with SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan). According to Turan, the energy cooperation projects discussed in January in Islamabad and Baku will feature in the agreement. These projects include energy efficiency initiatives, the construction of a pipeline, and SOCAR’s plans to explore the creation of underground gas storage facilities in Pakistan, as well as documents provided by the Pakistani side related to the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons in the country.
