Over 14 years cement rose in price by 2.7 times
In 2013, a 50-kg bag of cement in Azerbaijan cost 6.94 AZN. This is 2.76 times more than in 2000 - 2.51 manat. Last year, the average price of cement increased by 3.9%.
The State Statistics Committee unveiled a report on construction activity in Azerbaijan in 2013. It reflects the data on the cost of basic construction materials in the 2000-2013 years. According to this document, over the years the prices of construction materials only grew. There were some critical periods of supply of building materials when prices "hit" records. In any case, the rise in prices of construction materials to increase investment in capital construction is at least 2 times.
In 2008, the volume of production of 1.575 million tons, the price of a 50-kg bag of cement reached 9.59 manat. After the government intervention the price fell to 8.38 manat in 2009.
In 2000, 10 pieces of brick construction on retail were offered for 0.73 manat. Last year AZN 2.80 was paid for this - 3.8 times more than 14 years earlier.
Demand for window glass in Azerbaijan is met mainly by imports. If in 2000 a m2 could be purchased for 6.46 manat, in 2013 the price was increased to 11.34 manat. Last year, the window glass rose in price by 3.3%.
For the years indicated the lowest wood prices were in 2000. Then a cubic meter of imported timber was offered for sale at 114.5 manat. Over the years this building material only rose in price in the past year on average 226.36 manats per m3.
About twice rose ceramic hob and in 2013 it cost 9.94 AZN per 1 m2.
