In the first half of this year the volume of extra-budgetary revenues of the State Phytosanitary Service (SFS) of the Ministry of Agriculture amounted to 1.732.000 manat, by 1.7 times more than in all of 2015. There is a 30% increase of the volume of SFS over first six months of 2016compared with the same period in the 2007-2013 year.
According to the decision of the Tariff Council of 2005, SFS provides Phytosanitary Surveillance Services to businesses and individuals on the phytosanitary quarantine inspection of imported goods, disposal of quarantine of plants and products, places and means of storage and transport, laboratory analysis and inspection at the established rate.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, over six months of this year has been banned imports of 48 tons of potatoes due to the presence of harmful organisms in it. During this period, phytosanitary service destroyed about 90 tons of food products, while 2014 the figure was only 2.5 tons. 08D
