SOCAR becomes official sponsor of european football championship 2016
State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has become one of the sponsors of the European Football Championship 2106, reads SOCAR's web site.
"We are happy to join the project and we are proud to establish cooperation with the world sport," said Elshad Nasirov, SOCAR Vice President for Investments and Marketing.
He said in 2012 Azerbaijan sponsored the Women's World Football Championship. "As the main sponsor of the Azerbaijan Football Federation Association (AFFA), SOCAR provides supports to football in the republic. We believe that sponsorship is among the rare opportunities for SOCAR to improve its image at the international arena," Nasirov added.
"We are happy to see SOCAR among the sponsors of the European Championship 2016. This is a rare opportunity for the company to represent its brand and expand its principal audience," said Gee-Loran Epstein, Marketing Director UEFA Events SA.
24 teams will play at the XV European Championship final. European Football Championship 2016 will take place in France. The final matches will be held in summer 2016 at the 10 stadiums in Bordeaux, Lance, Lille, Lion, Marseilles, Nice, Paris, Saint Deniz, Saint Etienne and Toulouse. The selective tournament of Euro-2016 will begin in September 2014 and sortition will take place in spring 2014.
The final sortition will take place at the end of 2015. According to the preliminary information, the final tournament will take place from June 10 to July 10, 2016.-0-

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy. The country exported 495,484.05 tons of oil products worth $309.02 million, a decrease of 40.3% in value and 40.7% in volume compared to 2023, when exports totaled 925,225.07 tons worth $572.21 million.
