Armenian President Сalls on Pashinyan to Resign
YEREVAN, 16 November, Sputnik. Armenian President Armen Sargsyan delivered a message in which, in particular, he called on the government and the National Assembly to prepare for early parliamentary elections.
In his words, Armenia lost in the war imposed on it, both on the battlefield and in the diplomatic arena. The country is no longer what it was on September 26 and even on November 8, i.e. the day before the end of the war.
"Artsakh is wounded. We have a raging society. The wounded economy is overloaded with colossal social problems. As a result of a huge flow of people from Artsakh, a humanitarian catastrophe is taking place ...We cannot ignore reality and continue living an ordinary life," the message says.
According to Sargsyan, in recent days he held several meetings with parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces, public groups and individuals. He conducted telephone conversations with representatives of the Diaspora. And the absolute majority of the participants in the meetings agree on one thing - the need to resign the government or terminate the powers of the Cabinet and appoint early parliamentary elections.
Despite the end of the war, Karabakh and Armenia, as well as the entire Armenian people, are entering a stage of new tests, and every mistake can have disastrous consequences.
He calls on the government and the ruling force to objectively assess their potential, to submit in a short time a roadmap for conducting constitutional processes. As a result of these processes, it will be possible to hold new elections, and before that, the government of the country should be transferred to a highly qualified government of national accord.
Sargsyan notes that all his observations are based solely on national and national interests. The President hopes that all political forces will realize this crucial moment and will adequately fulfill their share of the historical mission. He reminds that both its allies and enemies are watching the processes in Armenia today. --0----
