Thirty-four Killed in Terrorist Attack in Ankara
According to recent reports, the terrorist attack in Ankara on Sunday evening killed 34 people and injured 125. The state of 19 people remains difficult. Thirtty people were killed on the spot of the terrorist act, and 4 died on the way to hospital, Anadolu News Agency reported.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Efka Ala said that the assault took place at a bus stop in the Kizilay district, with a large number of civilians. It was carried out by a passing truck. The investigation has already yielded results. The name of the organization behind the terrorist attack will soon be made public, he said.
Recall that the explosion occurred near a bus stop on Ataturk Boulevard, one of the main streets of Ankara. A car bomb was slowly pulled up to the stop at a time when people boarded the bus. The footage from the scene shows how the surviving people flee in panic.
According to the local law enforcement agencies, the assault was committed by Kurdish terrorists (PKK) or their supporters. Shortly after the attack, the Turkish authorities blocked access to social networks.
