104 years ago Turkey saved Azerbaijan
Baku/15.09.22/Turan: On September 15, 1918, the Caucasian Islamic Army, consisting of Ottoman (mostly) Azerbaijani Turks and various peoples of the Caucasus, under the command of Nuri Pasha Killigil, liberated Baku and other regions of the People's Republic of Azerbaijan from Bolshevik-Dashnak armed formations.
The Government of the People's Republic of Azerbaijan, established in Ganja on May 28 (1918), moved to Baku from Ganja. The PRA existed for a little more than two years. During this time, state structures and public relations had been established in Azerbaijan, laws and constitutional provisions adopted, including freedom of expression, women's voting rights, national and religious equality.
In 1920, on April 28, the ANR ceased to exist as a result of the occupation of Azerbaijan by red Russia.
Throughout the Soviet years, despite Moscow's strict ideological control, public love and craving for Turkey remained in Soviet Azerbaijan. The same attitude in Turkey was to the Azerbaijanis in the USSR, and to the Azerbaijani Turks in Iran.
On November 9, 1991, Turkey became the first country to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan.
On September 27, 2020, Azerbaijan launched an operation to liberate the territories occupied by Armenia. Unlike the events of 1918, the Turkish army did not participate in military operations. The assistance of the fraternal country was in the form of arms supplies, the hard work of military advisers and specialists in operating the Turkish military equipment.
After the liberation of the territories occupied by Armenia, both countries strengthened cooperation and integration based on the principle of "One people – two states".—0—
