Armenia is not leaving the CSTO yet - Pashinyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the Armenian side decided not to participate in events under the auspices of the CSTO and the CIS.
Speaking in parliament on November 15, Pashinyan said that the CSTO, contrary to its obligations, does not respond to threats to Armenia's security. Therefore, it is not clear why to participate in these events if nothing is solved there.
Yerevan is not preparing to leave the CSTO, but gives the bloc "time for reflection." This will allow the authorities of Armenia and the CSTO to decide on further steps.
The CSTO refuses to fix its area of responsibility in Armenia, and by participating in meetings, Yerevan agrees with this. Pashinyan added that Armenia is diversifying its security relations, since Russia cannot supply it with weapons. Therefore, Armenia is forced to find alternative partners. "If the talk is about strategic course, Armenia is not going to announce any change in policy until it leaves the CSTO," Pashinyan said.
