Azerbaijan, Armenia 'Very Close To Being Able To Reach Final Agreement,' Blniken Says

The United States said on Wednesday that it believes Azerbaijan and Armenia "are very close to being able to reach a final agreement," as the top diplomat Antony Blinken put it, as he opened a trilateral meeting with Foreign Ministers Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan in Washington's Marriott Marquis hotel,  TURAN's Washington correspondent reports.

Blinken emphasized the importance of reaching a final agreement which he described as "durable, dignified, and opens extraordinary possibilities" for both countries, for the region that they share, and their relationship with the United States.

"Throughout this process, the United States has sought to be helpful, supportive, along with the European Union and many colleagues in Europe today's an opportunity to take stock of the progress made," he said.

"I believe both countries are very close to being able to reach a final agreement, one that the United States would strongly, strongly support," he added

"So I'm very appreciative today to again take stock of where we are and to see what more the United States can do in helping you reach the agreement," he concluded.
