Center for Greek Culture and Research opened
Baku/19.10.22/Turan: The Center for Greek Culture and Research has been opened at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL). The Greek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nicolas Piperigkos and the rector of the university Kamal Abdullah attended the opening ceremony. According to Abdulla, work is currently underway at AUL to introduce the teaching of the ancient Greek language.
“We have already started teaching one of the ancient languages – Sanskrit. Now we are working on the introduction of the teaching of the ancient Greek language,” Abdullah said.
The Ambassador of Greece, thanked the rector for his attention to Greek culture, and expressed his conviction that relations between the two countries would develop. According to him, political, scientific and cultural ties between Azerbaijan and Greece are developing.
Piperigkos expressed hope that the Center will be useful for students and teachers, and all those interested in the development of Azerbaijani-Greek relations will be able to take advantage of its opportunities. ---16C06---

Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia regarding the mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports traveling for short-term visits. The document was signed by the foreign ministers of both countries, Jeyhun Bayramov and Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, on September 27 during a meeting at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. According to the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the meeting expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations based on mutual respect for each other's legitimate interests.
