Chief Military Prosecutor of the Russian Federation received by the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan
Baku /09.10.19 / Turan: On October 8, the Chief Military Prosecutor of the Russian Federation, Valery Petrov, visited Baku, and the members of his delegation were received by the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Zakir Garalov.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the prospects of cooperation in the military-legal sphere took place, and noted the need to strengthen them.
Valery Petrov, in particular, said that mutual visits and regular contacts would have a positive impact on the development of bilateral relations.

On January 13, the trial in the case of public activist Nijat Ibrahim continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Aygun Gurbanova. The trial was suspended after Ibrahim, in protest against the illegal arrest, began banging his head against the "aquarium cage", trying to commit suicide. The International Committee of Concerned Scholars (ICS) has appealed to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, requesting his assistance in securing the release of the arrested researcher, Igbal Abilov.
