City Hall refused to sanction meetings of Musavat and the National Council of Democratic Forces
Baku / 03.04.19 / Turan: Baku Mayor"s Office refused to sanction the rally of the Musavat Party, scheduled for April 7, reported the head of the Musavat apparatus, Gulaga Aslanly.
The authorities refused to allow the action on all three proposed routes, he noted, and motivated the refusal by saying that the action was scheduled "in places of heavy traffic". Another reason is that on April 7, entrance examinations will be held in the capital.
"Musavat" regards the refusal as another violation of the power of citizens' legitimate rights to freedom of assembly and expression, "Aslanli said.
The Musavat party planned the rally under the slogans: "No corruption", "Freedom to political prisoners" and "Freedom to Karabakh".
The representative of the National Council of Democratic Forces Nuraddin Mammadov told Turan that the National Council received a similar refusal by the mayor"s office to hold a rally on April 6. -05D-
