Democratic Forces Want to Hold Meeting on November 3
The Consultative Majlis of Democratic Forces (CMDF) plans to hold a meeting on November 3 in Baku, demanding democratic elections and fighting corruption. Turan was told by the CMDF Board member, head of the Open Society Party Sulhaddin Akbar. According to him, the action will be carried out in accordance with Article 49 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan and under the slogan: "Put an end to corruption in elections", "Down with corruption and bureaucratic arbitrariness," "Ensure the rights of property," "Put an end to the illegal demolition of houses!", "End unemployment and poverty" and "Provide labor rights".
In their notification to the Town Hall, the organizers offered five places for the action: Azadlig Square, Fizuli Square, Samad Vurgun Park, and the squares in front of the Tabriz and Narimanov cinemas. The organizers expect participation of about 10 thousand people. The action is planned from 16.00 to 18.00 p.m.
The Consultative Majlis of Democratic Forces was created on September 5. It includes the parties Aydinlar (Intellectuals), Open Society, Liberal, Free Azerbaijan, Freedom, Liberal Democrat, Islamic Democratic, Great Azerbaijan, National Independence, Classic Folk Front of Azerbaijan, Greens, People's Freedom, and Democratic (as an observer). -06B-
