The government of Azerbaijan does not cease to be proud of the open jobs. At a recent meeting on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers for the first nine months of this year, President Ilham Aliyev reported on the opening in the country since the beginning of the year of 93.6 thousand new jobs, of which 72.7 thousand are supposedly permanent.
A renowned economist Azer Mehdiyev analyzed the social network the government report to open in 2004, 1.1 million new jobs according to the same official government sources. The expert concluded that for the same period in the country have closed 700 thousand jobs.
Economist based on the following data of SSC. In 2003, there were 3 million 972.6 thousand of population. In 2011, it reached 4 million 375.3 thousand people. That is, over the years the number of employed persons rose by only 402.6 thousand. On the other hand, the number of employees during the period increased by 160.9 thousand people, and as of the beginning of January 2012 1 million 387.5 thousand people. Third, since 2003, the country's unemployment rate decreased from 400.9 thousand to 250.9 thousand.
Thus, the expert asked a rhetorical question, "Where are 700 thousand" new jobs? ". "On the iron logic of the numbers, they just shut down," said Mehdiyev. - 08D-
