Draft state budget for 2024 envisages increased expenditures on defence and security
Baku/17.10.23/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev has submitted a draft law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2024" to Milli Majlis. The draft document was published on the Milli Majlis website on 17 October.
According to the draft law, the state budget revenues for 2024 amount to AZN 34 billion 173 million, and expenditures - AZN 36 billion 763 million.
The document envisages allocation of AZN 80 million from the 2024 state budget for international assistance and AZN 110 million 935,344 for elections and statistical activities.
Defence and national security expenditures are envisaged in the amount of AZN 6 billion 421 million 47,420 manats. This is about AZN 367 million more than a year earlier.
Of this amount, AZN 2 billion is allocated for defence. AZN 465 million 552,086, AZN 413 million 410,402 for national security, AZN 487 million 698,516 for the Border Guard Service and AZN 5 million 132,430 for applied research in the field of defence and national security.
Also, AZN 3 billion will be allocated for other activities in the field of defence and national security. AZN 49 million 253,986 and AZN 3 billion for special defence projects and activities.
AZN 3 billion 825 million will be allocated in the 2024 state budget for reconstruction and restoration of territories liberated from occupation. -03-
