Erdogan Arrives in Baku at Turkic Council's Summit
Baku /13.10.19 / Turan: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in Baku on Monday to attend the 7th Summit of the Turkic Council on October 14-15, the Anatolian Agency reports with reference to the Office of Communications of the Presidential Administration of Turkey.
The summit is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan agreement (October 3, 2009) on the establishment of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states (Turkic Council). The agreement was signed by the leaders of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
In the capital of Azerbaijan, an official decision is expected to enter Uzbekistan into the organization, as well as the signing of a number of documents, in particular, on the activities of the European office of the Turkic Council in Budapest.
During the summit, the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, will be awarded the title of Honorary Chairman of the Turkic Council.
On the sidelines of the summit, a decision will be made to create a Coordinating Committee of the Turkic Council, which will ensure coordination of the activities of such structures as TurkPA, TURKSOY, Turkic Academy, Fund of Turkic Culture and Heritage, and Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Erdogan will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of member countries of the Turkic Council.

The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the deaths of two people during the recent floods in Baku, Baku Mayor Eldar Azizov said commenting on the consequences of the flooding of tunnels in the capital during the heavy rains on October 22 to journalists. According to him, the sewer system could not handle the large volume of floodwater, which led to the drowning of two people in a tunnel in the Sabunchu district of Baku.
