Head of the EU mission on projects in support of Azerbaijani women
Baku/10.03.23/Turan: The European Union supports a number of projects that benefit women in Azerbaijan, stated on March 9 the head of the EU Delegation to Baku, Peter Michalko, at an event dedicated to the social campaign "Women are a great force!". This campaign started on March 1 and will continue for a month.
"The European Union is proud to celebrate International Women's Day together with 27 inspiring Azerbaijani women working in various fields. We support a number of projects that benefit women in Azerbaijan and contribute to a strong partnership between the European Union and Azerbaijan," Mikhalko said.
Women in this social project represent the fields of education, culture and healthcare, among them there are businessmen, representatives of civil society and volunteers.
The Chairman of the State Committee for Family Affairs Bahar Muradova noted that the projects and programs implemented by the European Union serve to create conditions for the full participation of women in all spheres of life, as well as to expand their opportunities in education and employment.
As part of the "Woman is a Great Force!" campaign, the EU mission shares the stories of successful Azerbaijani women. Thus, the event featured videos with the presentation of elements of the social campaign, as well as speeches by participants and beneficiaries of EU-funded projects.
The project participants and volunteers were awarded certificates and memorable photos were taken. ---16B06---
