Investigation into PFPA Deputy Chairman Completed
The investigation into the case of PFPA deputy chairman Fuad Gahramanli has been completed. After the lawyers get acquainted with the case, it will be submitted to the court, the lawyer Nemat Karimli told Turan.
Recall that Gahramanli was arrested on 8 December last year and charged with inciting hatred and anti-government appeals (Articles 281 and 283 of the Criminal Code).
The reason for the charges was his publication on his Facebook page with an appeal to the residents of Nardaran to defend their rights.
Later, authorities brought a new charge - Article 220.2 - calls to mass disorder. This regards the November 2015 police operation in Nardaran, where collisions of local residents with police took place and six people were killed.
However, the inquest did not present any evidence of Gahramanli’s guilt. Gahramanli himself and his party colleagues are convinced that the authorities falsify the case to weaken one of the country's leading opposition parties. -02D-
