A group of social structures of the Islamic Guidance held on Friday a Roundtable on the Day Gudsa (Jerusalem) at the International Press Center. Panelists made parallels between the problems of Palestine and Karabakh. It was suggested to develop a strategy of "liberation of the occupied Muslim lands." According to them, this situation creates favorable conditions for the sale of arms to the warring parties by the West.
The participants also discussed the Karabakh issue, stating that the OSCE cannot solve it, because decision taken by this structure are not binding. At the same time, was expressed the view that "the question can be solved only by the UN."
The panelists came to common opinion on the need of consolidate the Islamic countries in the name of defense of common values.
The initiative to mark the Day Guds belongs to the leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini, and symbolizes solidarity of the Islamic world with the Palestinian people.
In 1979, Imam Khomeini recommended to mark every last Friday of the month of Ramadan, as a day of solidarity with Palestine Islamic world, and since then it has become a tradition in many Muslim countries. -05C04-
