Mehriban Aliyeva Draws Attention of CIS Law Enforcers to Illegal Activities in Karabakh
Baku / 20.07.18 / Turan: First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, July 20, received the participants of the Baku meeting of the Council of Ministers of Internal Affairs of the CIS member states.
Welcoming the law enforcers, Aliyeva said Baku's position is to develop comprehensive cooperation within the CIS, cooperation in various spheres - socio-political, economic, humanitarian issues, and security issues.
"Stability, public order and the rule of law are a prerequisite for the development of any state," said Aliyeva, drawing attention to the fact that Azerbaijan is a country with a low crime rate, and the number of serious and especially serious crimes has decreased by almost 30%.
At the same time, she stressed the need for cooperation in effectively combating the new threats and challenges posed by globalization.
In particular, she focused on illegal activities in the occupied territories.
"I want to draw your attention to the facts of illegal economic activity of a number of foreign companies in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. At the moment, 177 foreign legal entities have been identified who carry out illegal economic activities in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. At the same time, 710 foreign citizens have visited the occupied territories. Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan, and the territorial integrity of our country is recognized by the whole world. Therefore these violations and actions are a gross violation of Azerbaijani legislation," M. Aliyeva stated.
At the same time, there are facts of using these territories for the cultivation and subsequent traffic of narcotic products, which, of course, also causes great concern.
The Azerbaijani state takes and will take all legal measures to stop and prevent these actions. "Of course, in this light, we very much rely on the support of Interpol," Aliyeva said. -06D--
