Baku / 20.07.18 / Turan: The Surakhani district court did not grant the appeal of Fuad Ahmedli, a member of the youth committee of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), about his release on parole due to the completion of one third of the sentence.

The case was examined at a visiting session of the court in Prison No. 16 under the chairmanship of Judge Elchin Agayev.

The leadership of the prison opposed the early release of F. Ahmedli.

As the activist"s father Zafar Ahmedov said, an employee of the prison, Emin Abdurrahmanov, characterizing F. Ahmedli, motivated this with the fact that the activist was still "completely not corrected".

According to the employee of the jail, Ahmedli does not take an active part in the prison life, or communicate with anyone, and he does not neatly tidy up his bed.

F. Ahmedli ironically asked the judge whether he had the chances to get out ahead of schedule if he "learns" to make the bed.

The judge dismissed the question without reply and did not satisfy the appeal.

According to Z. Ahmedov, an appeal will be filed against this decision of the court.

In addition, on August 18, half the time of his prison sentence will expire and a new appeal for release on parole will be filed.

It should be noted that Ahmedli remained without a lawyer after his lawyer Asabali Mustafayev was removed from his lawyer office for one year.

Ahmedli suffers from a pulmonary disease, and under prison conditions there is no possibility of obtaining quality treatment.

Fuad Ahmedli was arrested on August 17, 2018 on the far-fetched charge of "violating the provisions of the law on operative-search activity", in particular, the distribution of personal data of users of mobile communications Azerfon.

In addition, he was accused of abuse of office. On June 16, 2017, he was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. On August 17, the appellate court upheld the verdict. Ahmedli is recognized as a political prisoner. -03B06-
