Moscow again accused the West of the collapse of the OSCE Minsk Group
Baku/17.02.23/Turan: The format of the OSCE Minsk Group was sent to the dustbin of history back in February last year, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Friday. According to her, then the American and French co-chairs, under a far-fetched pretext, stopped interaction with their Russian counterpart.
"There was no clear explanation for this. With this in mind, we focused on providing assistance to Yerevan and Baku within the framework of trilateral formats based on a set of relevant agreements at the highest level, which was repeatedly discussed and explained," RIA Novosti quotes Zakharova.
The Russian side confirms its readiness to organize a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Moscow, Zakharova continued and continues to promote the process of concluding a peace treaty between the countries.
In this context, a "useful" visit to Yerevan and Baku by Russian Foreign Ministry Special Representative Igor Khovaev has recently taken place. "The Armenian and Azerbaijani sides confirmed their interest in mediation by our Russian Federation in this matter," she said. ---02D---
