Moscow believes that Pashinyan will agree to a trilateral agreement
Moscow/19.11.21/Turan: The OSCE is making every effort, represented by the co-chairs of the Minsk Group, to bring the positions of Armenia and Azerbaijan closer together, was stated on Friday at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow, OSCE Chairman-in-Office and Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde.
“At the same time, I want to highly appreciate the role of Russia in the ceasefire the other day, as well as the conclusion of a peace agreement a year ago,” she said. Linde noted that over the past few days she spoke twice with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. “We are trying to use all available tools to resolve this conflict, and we are working closely on this issue with Russia,” Linde said.
In turn, Sergei Lavrov, answering the question why the previously announced meeting of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia failed, confirmed that such a meeting needs a consensus. “In order for a meeting to take place, it is necessary that all those who are going to meet agree to the meeting. I am sure that such a meeting will take place, ”Lavrov said, without specifying who did not agree to the meeting on November 9.
It should be noted that earlier the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan made it clear that there would be no trilateral meeting, since Armenia is not satisfied with the documents proposed for signing: a peace treaty with Azerbaijan and an agreement on the delimitation and demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
After this statement the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border aggravated, ending with another human and territorial loss for Armenia. -02D-
