Russian military air base in Armenia to be strengthen
Yerevan/22.11/13/Turan-ArmInfo: The Russian military base in Armenia will temporarily be given territories not used by the Armenian army, Spokesman of Armenia's Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan said concerning the information that Erebuni airport has been given to the Russian military base in Armenia.
"The airport has areas that are used by both parties according to special rules," Hovhannisyan said, explaining that the list of the facilities used by the Russian military base to ensure Armenia's security has repeatedly been changed depending on the task the base had at the moment.
The government of Armenia has adopted a special decision on that issue on November 21.
The territories in the airport will be used for location of military helicopters and other equipment.
Recall that at the moment at the Russian military air base Erebuny 18 fighters MIG 29 are located. -0-
