The Convention on the Caspian Sea will be signed in 2018, Lavrov
Moscow / 16.03.18 / Turan: The Convention on the status of the Caspian Sea will be signed this year, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday.
"I can more confidently announce that the convention will be signed this year at the fifth summit, which will be held in Kazakhstan.
In December, we gathered in Moscow the Foreign Ministries of the Caspian countries - Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Azerbaijan - and at our level agreed all the Articles of this convention, now the texts are being verified in the language of each participating country," the minister said at the Russia- country of opportunity."
Sergei Lavrov also expressed confidence that the convention will be signed, and so far no obstacles to this have been seen. -02D-
