Trilateral meeting in Sochi creates basis for mutual compromises - Putin
Baku /23.11.22 / Turan: A comprehensive Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement requires the attention of the CSTO member countries. This was stated on November 23 at the OBKB summit in Yerevan by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“We positively evaluate the summit of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and the Russian Federation at the end of October in Sochi. The talks that took place created a good basis for future compromises on fundamental issues,” Putin said.
It is important that the joint statement reaffirmed the commitment to the top-level tripartite agreements reached in 2020 and 2021. and the key role of trilateral cooperation in ensuring peace and stability in the South Caucasus, he added.
“Only by consistently fulfilling these agreements on border delimitation, unblocking transport communications, and solving humanitarian problems, it is possible to achieve a stable normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We hope that this will eventually lead to the conclusion of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku,” the Russian President stressed.
It is noteworthy that Putin did not react in any way to the accusations of Nikol Pashinyan, who spoke before him. Thus, the Prime Minister of Armenia actually accused the CSTO of inaction and refusal to protect Armenia from the "aggression of Azerbaijan."
The leaders of all other CSTO countries did not come out in defense of Armenia as well. -0-
