UN: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan violate the international embargo on arms trade
UN report says that Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan sold weapons to North Korea, in spite of the international embargo, according to the columnist of Eurasia.net, Joshua Kucera.
The report was published by the Associated Press agency. According to the report, Azerbaijan bought in Korea anti-aircraft missiles against air-land class.
As a result, relevant committee recommended the UN sanctions against North Korea's Hesong Trading Corporation, which sold Azerbaijan 70 portable anti-aircraft missile systems. British entrepreneur Michael Ranger has been charged with the sale of these missiles in July 2012. From the foregoing, it is not clear whether the missiles were delivered to Azerbaijan or not?
The court in London heard the documents confirming the performance of this transaction with Ranger, and his talks with American manufacturer of Beretta pistols for Emergency Situations Ministry of Azerbaijan.
The court found the allegations sufficient and supporting violations of the international arms embargo.
At the trial, there were also other evidence of arms trade between Kazakhstan and North Korea -02D-
