U.S. Ambassador Visits Agjabedi and Barda
The United States of America, through its Military European Command, initiated three humanitarian water improvement projects in the villages of Yeni Dashkend, Alkhasli, and Ardushlu. The project will be coordinated through the U.S. Embassy's Office of Defense Cooperation. Once completed, the three projects are expected to improve water access and distribution for nearly 700 families.
U.S. Embassy and Azerbaijani officials participated in a ground breaking ceremony to mark the start of the projects on 5 November 2015.Further inquiries should be directed to the US Embassy Press Office. The U.S. European Command has sponsored 17 humanitarian assistance projects, totaling more than $4 million dollars since 2003. These projects have included upgrades and constructions of schools as well as water supply projects, mostly targeting IDP communities. Since 1993, the United States has provided over $115 million to support IDPs and refugees in Azerbaijan. –02D--
