Moscow / 07.12.20 / Turan: Armenia and Azerbaijan will hold a meeting on the Karabakh settlement after the stabilization of the situation in the conflict zone. Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan stated this on Monday at a briefing in Moscow after a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Ayvazyan further stated: “Turkey must withdraw its armed personnel and terrorist groups affiliated with it from the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the South Caucasus as a whole. There are no clear signals yet about the withdrawal of foreign terrorist fighters," he said.
Ara Ayvazyan confirmed Yerevan's readiness to exchange prisoners on the principle of "all for all".
In turn, Lavrov said that facilitating the return of refugees is becoming sustainable, and people feel more confidence in this process. "And we will strengthen these sentiments in every possible way, this will be facilitated by the ongoing negotiations on turning the center of humanitarian response into an international one with the participation of both Armenia and Azerbaijan. The relevant documents are now being discussed through the relevant structures," he said.
Lavrov called on the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to pay special attention to the preservation of cultural sites in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to him, UNESCO is preparing its assessment mission. -02D-
