If people are not ready for mobilization, it means that the army is not ready

(An interview with Turan military psychologist Azad Isazade)

Q: What, in your opinion,  is the reasons for the frequent deaths of soldiers?

Answer: First of all, many young people are not psychologically prepared for military service: there  is not a patriotic propaganda in society, and  there is much  negativity - the death of a soldier, hazing. For this reason, the recruit always thinks that  he will be oppressed in the army. 

Among the young people there are rumors that  they should show strength  in the army not to fall under the pressure of others. For this reason, some  soldiers show  excessive violent response. It reminds the laws of thieves: how  you show yourself, so it will go. Young people incorrectly prepares to serve in the army. They do  not want  to show themselves  weak. If a person prepares himself  to repel aggression, and he will be aggressive. 

  I'm not saying that the army necessarily wants to kill someone, but often young conscripts are subjected to physical pressure. It is difficult to give exact figures. For example, in January of about 30 soldiers died. Now imagine how many soldiers were beaten?

Q: What is the role  of corruption in the army?

A: The press wrote about corruption in the upper echelons of the army, where allegedly

everything is for sale - weapons, food, etc. Corruption among soldiers and junior officers also occurs. Collecting  money, buying  phone cards for commanders;  parents offer commanders money and gifts just for  not  torturing their children. Some do it voluntarily, others are  extorted. The one who pays serves in more comfortable  conditions, and  the  rests  are to clean toilets, which is considered shameful. It turns out that the most weak and defenseless  will clean toilets.

Q: What is the training of the army in the schools and in society as a whole?

Answer: Military psychological preparation consists of several stages. The primary stage begins with the military-psychological situation in civilian life. As I noted above, recruits do not receive such training and being in the army, they immediately starts with  the second stage - the combat training. However, often it happens that the army soldier receives only a general knowledge and training. As for the military and psychological training, it is important to conduct war games - simulated combat training.

 In schools, military training is very simplistic. I think that the system of mental preparation should be carried out in a professional manner. There are soldiers who do not know how to handle a gun, disassemble and assemble it. Soldiers see a weapon in the front zone. In units located outside of the front zone, weapons  are not given in order to avoid danger. But no one thinks about the military training of soldiers. If hostilities begin, a soldier in any case should be involved in combat. How will he do?

Q: What is needed to raise the prestige of the army in society?

A: The Army needs a large number of professionals: doctors, cooks, drivers, tailors, etc. One time  there used to be various courses and clubs. Draftee could get a driver's license and work as a driver. It is necessary to prepare health workers and communicators, it will increase the prestige of the army.

 Question: Representatives of show business are more popular than national heroes. Are young people  in such a country ready to die for their country?

Answer: To prove this, it is enough to hold a poll on who is better known Faik Agayev or a national hero Eldar Agayev? Today, Azerbaijan has a total of 16 living heroes. So, the national hero, personnel officer, no one knows, but Faik Agayev know everything.

Such parallel demonstrates the role of the army and show business in society. We must know our national heroes.

If war breaks out, I think society is not ready for it, and the liberation of Karabakh without war  is unconvincing. It is unlikely to achieve something through negotiations. This means that the army should be ready to carry out a number of successful operations.

Only  army can not win the war. War wins the  state. Army is  the people, so the idea of ​​mobilization must come from the people. If people are not ready for mobilization, the army can not fight. -26В-
