In mid-February 2016 the Caucasian Muslims Office (CMO) appointed new Cadi - Musa Gasimov in the village of Nardaran. According to an  elder of the village Hajiaga Nuriyev, Gasimov was formerly a qadi  in the  settlement of Pirallahi in Sabunchu.

Thereafter, the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations said that in Nardaran is only one religious community, and appointed qadi will appoint  his representatives (mutavalli) in the local mosque.

Until now, residents Nardaran did not recognize and ignored such appointment of Baku, and several independent religious communities functioned  in the village.

As for the community, "Rahima Khanum",  it is  one of the oldest in the country and covers the inhabitants of the village of Nardaran near Baku. Members of the community  are  Shiites and admirers  of the grave of  Rahima Khanum - sister of Imam Reza - one of the 12 Muslim imams. Fleeing persecution in the Middle Ages, Rahima Khanum’s family moved from the Middle East in Nardaran, and here  she was  buried.-03B-
