Abbas Huseynovs mother declared torturing him in Gobustan prison
Baku / 30.04.18 / Turan: The activist of the movement "Muslim Unity", condemned by the Nardaran events, was tortured in Gobustan prison, stated his mother, Rahima Huseynova.
According to her, A.Huseyn himself reported this by calling on April 30 home.
"Before that, Abbas called on April 26. After this call he was badly beaten. Together with the deputy head he was beaten by 4-5 people. His whole body is wounded. In addition, he was given five days of punishment, but three days later they were released, "R.Huseynova said.
She is not aware of the reasons for the beating.
"Abbas has no problems with other cellmates. We believe that this is due to the fact that he sent congratulations to Ali Kerimli (chairman of the Popular Front Party) on the occasion of his birthday.
The last time, on April 26, he asked Kerimli to convey his congratulations and the media wrote about it," A.Huseynova said. Lawyer Fariz Namazli, in turn, said that he was not aware of the beating of his client, but he was investigating the information.
Head of the Public Relations Department of the Penitentiary Service Mehman Sadigov denied information about the pressure on Huseynov.
"I talked to the prison governor. There were no facts of torture, no beatings. Our employees periodically conduct preventive talks with prisoners, including Abbas Huseynov, "said Sadigov.-06D--
