Azerbaijani poets, after four-month arrest in Iran have returned home
Liberated by the Iranian authorities on September 4 from custody, the young Azerbaijani poets Farid Hussein and Shahriyar
Hajizadeh Thursday evening returned home, having driven into Azerbaijan through the border checkpoints Bilasuvar. In an interview with Turan Hajizadeh said that the state of their health is normal, and they are glad to be back at home.
However Hajizadeh refrained from further comment, noting that the next few days he and Hussein will hold a press conference to respond to the questions.
The poets were arrested on May 2 in Tabriz, where they arrived at literary festival.
The Iranian authorities accused them of illegal entry into the country. For 10 September was scheduled the announcement of the indictment. However, on September 4 the poets were released and handed over to the Consulate General of Azerbaijan in Tabriz. -0 -
