On December 16-18 due to arrival of high guests for the signing of the gas contract "Shah Deniz-2" the center of Baku will be limited to traffic. According to Traffic Police Department of Baku, the events will be held in the hotels Fairmont, Mariott and the Four Seasons, as well as Heydar Aliyev Center. Therefore, traffic will be limited in: at the airport road, Heydar Aliyev Avenue, U.Hajibeyov, Azadlyg and Neftchiler avenues, Mardakan and Buzovna highway, and the area "Azneft".
The police called on drivers to use alternative routes, without specifying where these paths lie. -16D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
