Baku/03.23.18/Turan: The country continues prophylactic medical examination. The campaign, which started in February this year, will end in May, after which a couple of months will be needed for the leisurely Ministry of Health to prepare a report on the results of this campaign. For a free comprehensive examination it is necessary to apply to the registry of the regional polyclinic, get a referral to specialists.

In contrast to past years, the current campaign is rather sluggish, which is not hidden by the doctors themselves. It came to the point that in Baku district narrow-profile doctors began calling patients on this territorial site, inviting them to a survey. But people ignored these calls. Then the doctors of a number of hospitals went even further, starting a quarterly detour to agitate people.

Thehead of the Baku polyclinic N.1 Kubra Jabbarovatold haqqin.az, the guard of new buildings does not allow doctors to enter the apartments of citizens registered in the clinic. In the Sabail district of the capital since the beginning of February, more than 6 thousand people have undergone clinical examination, which is not so much, considering that this area is one of the most densely populated areas of the city. Almost every second examined had neuroses. But most often people complain of hypertension, heart, diabetes.

The prevalence of neurological, endocrinological and cardiac diseases is also observed throughout the country, as evidenced by the results of past campaigns for clinical examination. So, according to the Ministry of Health, in the capital the most common diseasesare the nervous, digestive, respiratory systems, in the regions - endocrine and cardiovascular diseases, which are the main causes of death in the country. This fact is confirmed also by the deputy of parliament, surgeon-cardiologist Rashad Mahmudov.

According to the specialist, in 2017 in Azerbaijan, cardiovascular diseases became the main cause of human deaths. This figure reached 57.8%, which indicates the formation of a dangerous trend in the field of public health.Factors for the spread of these diseases are stress, malnutrition, overweight, smoking, etc.Another cause of death is cancer. Chief doctor of the Oncological Clinic of the Azerbaijan state Medical University, NasimiGasimov said that over the past ten years the incidence of cancer in the country has grown significantly. In 2016, 11.761 new cases of cancer detection were registered, of which 217 were detected in children under the age of 13 years. In 2015, 11.118 cancers were detected. In 1990, there were 7765 cases of appearance of tumors in Azerbaijan. As a whole, 43 927 patients suffering from oncological diseases are registered today. Most often, women have breast cancer, cervix, and men have cancer of the trachea, lungs and prostate.

But people are dying from hepatitis C, stroke, diabetes. According to official data, the number of registered diabetics registered in the republic in 2011 was 135,715 people (1.47% of the population), in 2012 - 153,506 (1.64% of the population), in 2013 - 177,474 (1.87 % of the population), in 2014 - 194 520 (2.03% of the population), in 2015 - 209 377 (2.16% of the population), in 2016 - 226 945 (2.31% of the population). In 2011-2016, the growth of the population amounted to 574,881 people or 6.2%, and the increase in the number of registered patients with diabetes was 91,230 people or 67.2%.

The question arises, why the death rate from these non-infectious diseases is high in Azerbaijan, which can be detected and treated promptly. After all, there are clinics with new equipment, there are specialists, yes like and our state does not skimp on investments in the healthcare sphere. Today, the cost of national health care is 6.54% of GDP.

Independent expert Samir Aliyev said in an interview with Turan, the first reason for the inefficiency of medical care in the country is the lack of a preventive strategy for fighting chronic diseases, the low level of technical equipment of polyclinics where it is impossible to conduct a wide range of laboratory studies, that is why patients are sent to hospitals. Clinical examination is of a formal nature. It's enough to go through the Internet forums to see this.

"Another reason is the high cost of treatment. Doctors, tests, ultrasound or tomography, drugs. Sometimes such a walk "in torments" is repeated more than once. All this makes visiting a medic a costly exercise, not accessible to everyone. As for the share of budget expenditures on health in GDP, Azerbaijan is in 101 place in the world in this indicator. In the ranking of the countries of the world on the effectiveness of health systems in 2016, compiled by the agency Bloomberg, Azerbaijan ranked 53rd out of 55 states participating in the study. We have health care costs of only $ 471 per person per year, which is twice lower than in Brazil, the expert said.
The conclusion is an effective system of medical services, personnel, education of people of a healthy lifestyle. All this involves ensuring the availability of high-quality food, free health-improving activities, a wide network of sports sections, regular monitoring of the health of citizens, depending on gender and age. This is a serious social problem, the solution of which is still fragmentary. -0--
