Citizen of Azerbaijan Detained in Georgia
Tbilisi / 10/31/17/Turan: The Georgian Interior Ministry employees detained a 27-year-old Azerbaijani citizen wanted by the Azerbaijani authorities through Interpol in Marneuli on charges of illegally crossing the border and illegally storing firearms.
As reported by the Interior Ministry of Georgia, during the search of the detainee"s car, the police seized an AKM automatic rifle, two cartridge boxes and 50 cartridges.
The Georgian Interior Ministry reports the detainee was wanted by Interpol for murder since 2014.
A case has been filed under the articles Illegal Crossing of the State Border of Georgia and Illegal Carrying of Firearms and Ammunition.
The detainee"s name is not reported, as is the possibility of extraditing him to Azerbaijan. -02D-
