Condition of Arrested Opposition Activist Worsened
On August 29 the lawyer Asabali Mustafayev visited the PFPA activist Fuad Ahmadli contained in the pre-trial detention facility of the State Security Service (SSS).
Arrested on August 18, Ahmadli is charged under Article 302.1 of the Criminal Code (violation of legislation on operational activities) and 308.1 (abuse of power).
According to the prosecutor's office and SSS, Ahmadli allegedly passed personal data of mobile telecom subscribers to other people and was a member of the Gulen movement network.
According to the lawyer, Ahmadli categorically rejects these accusations. He is not familiar with the people whom he allegedly passed some data, the lawyer said.
‘After his arrest, his health has deteriorated. Previously, he underwent several surgeries and in the last days the effects of these operations have become obvious. His condition has become much worse and doctors were called for him from the Central Clinical Hospital,’ he said.
The lawyer also said he insists on transferring the prisoner to Pre-trial Jail No 1 in Kurdakhani, where the detention conditions are better. He also intends to apply for replacement of the arrest by house arrest. -03B-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
