Defendants in the "Nardaran case" demand the appearance of Interior Minister in the court

On Thursday at the trial in the "Nardaran case"  the accused demanded to summon to the court  Interior Minister Ramil Usubov. They  say that when torturing them in the  department of the Interior Ministry they refer to the order of the miniser. " They tortured us , it was said that  the Ministry of Internal Affairs and head of the state were aware of all what was happening. Therefore, let Ramil Usubov come and tell you whether he was aware of the torture? Where did they find a weapon which  they attribute to us," said the defendant Abbas Huseynov. Because of the absence of his lawyer the consideration of the petition was postponed. On August 18 at the trial “victims” gave evidence. First they spoke  that the chief of the secret department  of the Interior Ministry Elman Bayramov. He said that  on  November 26, 2015 at 10:30 took place an operational meeting, and was told that Thale Bagirzade in Nardaran hold meetings in the house of  Abulfaz Bunyadov. After that, the group was sent to the Nardaran, which arrived at 12:45. At about 13:00 began the operation.  There were 20 representatives of police and other policemen. Two employees went through the gate, and  others over the fence.

According to Bayramov,  a grenade was thrown to police. At the same time, he acknowledged that he did not see the explosion, and heard the roar. Allegedly,  then began a shooting. At the same time, the lawyers asked why the security forces first did not offer the believers  through loudspeakers to surrender? Bayramov explained  it by the reluctance to "create noise in the village." He also denied the facts of torture of detainees, but admitted that Bagirzade did not resist arrest. Bayramov also said that during the arrest of  Bagirzade  they seized  his  computer, but  Thale Bagirzade immediately denied it. "In the materials of the case they say about a tablet, but I have never had a tablet. The record is said about the tablet, but I did not have any tablet. I had a laptop, but  they did not confiscate the computer," Bagirzade said. During testimonies by  Bayramov were revealed other  contradictions. Thus, he argued that the operation along with the detentions lasted for 15 minutes. However, the lawyer Yalcin Imanov referred to the investigation report, which states that the operation lasted for an hour. The lawyer also denied Bayramov’s words that, the police themselves took the wounded to the hospital. "The accused and the locals themselves, first brought the victims to a rural clinic and from there by ambulances to hospitals,"  Imanov said.

The accused Rasim Jabrailov said that in the police department  Bayramov was one of those who tortured and blackmailed his family,  forcing them to make  confession. Bayramov tried to deny it, what Jabrailov said, "If I say a lie, let the Koran punish me." Another accused Abbas Guliyev also said that Bayramov was one of those who tortured him. The next court hearing is scheduled for August 24.
