Defense Ministry Reports about Aggravation of Situation on Front Line
The Defense Ministry press service reported a worsening of the situation in several areas of the front line. So, Armenian units on the night of January 22 fired at Azerbaijani positions from heavy machine guns, mortars and rocket-propelled grenades. Total for the day 106 firings took place from the Armenian side.
Skirmishes took place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and along the front line in Karabakh. In all cases return fire was opened, with no casualties.
Note that in the past three days, the Armenian side reported four dead and several wounded at its troops. A contract soldier was last killed on January 21 in the evening.
All of these losses occurred as a result of the alleged attacks of sabotage groups from the Azerbaijani side and sniper fire.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry denied the allegations. -02D-
