Editor of the portal "Yeni Chag" detained and released
Baku / 01.08.18 / Turan: On August 1, the editor of the information portal "Yeni Chag", Agil Alesker, who was detained by officers of the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was released on July 30. About the detention of Alesker his relatives reported to the chairman of the Press Council, Milli Majlis deputy Aflatun Amashev, who found out where the journalist was held. Amashev promised his relatives to help provide legal assistance to Alesker. On the morning of August 1, Alesker was released. The editorial office of "Yeni Chag" does not know the reason for his detention. The editor did not make any statements either. -0--

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
