Over the past day there were heavy snowfalls in the mountains of the Greater Caucasus. In the rest of the country there were showers.
The level of one day’s precipitation in Baku and Absheron amounted to 2-90 mm, in the Greater Caucasus - 7-66 mm, in the Lesser Caucasus - 27-40 mm, in the Central Lowlands - 5-50 mm, and in Lankaran-Astara – 0.3-36 mm, the Ministry of Environment reported.
The snow depth in the Ismayilli region was 15 centimeters, and in the Guba region’s highlands it was 65 centimeters. This was the snow level in the highest mountainous village of the country, Khinalig, located at an altitude of 2,300 meters. In the neighboring villages the level was below that.
In the neighboring Gusar region near the tourist center Shahdag the snow level was 25 cm.
According to the forecast, precipitation will continue with less intensity tomorrow. -02D-
