Housing problem of invalids of the Karabakh war will be solved
Until the end of 2018 the families of martyrs and disabled of the Karabakh war will be provided with housing in accordance with the decree signed June 20 by Azerbaijani President decree "On additional measures to improve the social conditions of persons who became disabled due to the protection of territorial integrity, independence and constitutional system of Azerbaijan."
The preamble of the document noted that before 2014, 4,278 disabled Karabakh war veterans and martyrs' families were provided with housing. Another 5,731 people of these categories were registered in the local executive authorities, as needing housing.
The President instructed the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection to prepare and implement an action plan to ensure during 2014-2018 years with housing (apartments or private homes) invalids of Karabakh war and martyr families, taken on the record before January 1, 2014.
Local executive authorities have been instructed to ensure allocation of lands for these purposes. These measures will be financed from the state budget.
The state has raised attention to the problems of disabled Karabakh war after a number of war veterans at the end of 2013-2014, due to unresolved social problems, committed acts of self-immolation. -06D-

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola has invited Azerbaijani economist and political prisoner Professor Gubad Ibadoglu to Strasbourg to attend the 2024 Sakharov Prize award ceremony.
