Journalist alleges police pressure
Baku/02.12.22/Turan: Journalist Elmar Aziz was summoned to the Pirallahi district police department of Baku on 1 December. The reason for this was a video he had circulated about the traffic police officers.
Note that Aziz earlier told local media that on 30 November he had filmed on video the traffic police officers taking bribes from the drivers. He shared the video on facebook.
In the Pirallahi police, and later in the Baku police headquarters he was pressured and forced to delete the video, demanding him not to tell about it.
However, Aziz told the media about the incident, and today he has again been summoned to the Pirallahi district police department together with his parents.
Head of the Interior Ministry press service Elshad Hajiyev told Turan that the information about Elmar Aziz's parents being taken to the police is not true.
According to him, Aziz himself was invited to the police to investigate his own complaint. -06В-
